“Unleash your inner circus performer!”

Teaching Aerial Yoga was a natural progression for me, combining my love of being upside down with my love of Yoga. Aerial Yoga uses a hammock that offers a lot of support to students to perform postures they may not ordinarily be able to do. It is a complete system combining Yoga, Pilates, Dance & Acrobatics.

Aerial gives you the opportunity to fly! It adds another dimension to floor yoga offering more support and more expansion. There’s an organic nature to Aerial where the student can find, move and explore themselves in space whilst being supported by the fabric.

Aerial yoga is particularly beneficial for people with lower back pain due to the decompressing effect on the spine when hanging upside down. Other benefits include; strengthening and stretching the whole body especially arms, legs and core, as well as improved circulation. Contraindications; pregnancy, high blood pressure and certain injuries. Sometimes going upside down for the first time can cause dizziness and vertigo like symptoms, but they usually pass after the first session.

My approach to teaching Aerial Yoga is very dynamic. I like to bring my playful and fun nature in to my classes, offering students the opportunity to engage in strength and flexibility work using the breath principles of Vinyasa yoga. Encouraging mindfulness of movement and connection to the source of who we are. I teach all levels, inviting students to meet their physical resistances in a safe and supportive environment. I encourage self acceptance and compassion, with no judgment or competitiveness in my classes.

“When we start to overcome physical challenges on the mat and gain greater physical and mental awareness, this empowers us to overcome challenges in life, leading to an expanded and happier version of ourselves.”

I offer classes, workshops, private and skype sessions, as well as retreats in the UK and beyond. I like to bring a playful and empowering approach to my sessions. Find out more below.
